Tom is a veteran of 35 years in the real estate business with experience as a Salesperson, Broker, Property Manager, Loan Officer, and Real Estate School Instructor and Owner. He began his career in 1980 as a salesperson when interest rates on homes loans were 22%. His degree in management and accounting allowed him to work out financing deals for his clients that allowed them to buy or sell even in a very challenging environment.
Tom brought that can do attitude into all aspects of the real estate business. He earned his GRI designation in 1982 and his CRS designation in 1983 putting him in a class with only 3% of all Realtors. He received his brokers license in 1987 and opened his own property management firm. In 1988 he became a real estate instructor teaching a 60 hour prelicensing course in Virginia. In 1998 he opened his own school in Virginia where over 90% of his students passed the state exam on their first try.
Tom is a native of Westlake, LA, and has also spent some time in Texas where he was both a loan officer and taught real estate classes. In 2003 he moved back to Lake Charles and became a partner and Assistant Director of Gulf South Real Estate Institute, Inc. He is a state certified pre-licensing instructor.
Tom's extensive experience in all phases of real estate and he first hand knowledge of "Common Law" states like Texas and Virginia are a boon to his Louisiana students.
R. Patrick "Pat" Diamond
Pat has grown up in the real estate business beginning in 1971 when he obtained his salesperson license. In 1972 he received his brokers license. His 43 years of experience include Brokerage, Sales Management, Appraisal and Education. He started his own brokerage firm in 1975 and has managed up to 21 agents.
He began appraising both commercial and residential properties in 1974 and continued until 1989 when he became a State Certified Residential Appraiser (R0147) and has limited his appraisal practice to residential and land since then.
Pat began educating students in the mid 1970s when the State of Louisiana required agents to attend real estate classes prior to receiving a license. He taught courses sponsored by Sowela Technical Institute and American Real Estate School before opening his own school, Gulf South Real Estate Institute, Inc., in 1987. He has helped hundreds of agents get their license in the intervening years. Pat is also a state certified pre-licensing instructor in all areas of real estate.
He also teaches Continuing Education classes. He has taught for the Louisiana Real Estate Commission, the Louisiana Realtors, and various Associations of Realtors around the state.
